California can be Awesome

Though Michigan will always have a place in my heart, weekends like this one in California are hard to beat. Saturday we decided to go to Legoland. Weather was superb, low 80's, with a nice breeze off the nearby ocean. We all had a blast. Then we headed south along the coastline (with the windows down of course!), into La Jolla to satisfy Marni's craving for a truely tasty margarita on the sunset patio at Cozymel's, one of our favorite San Diego resturants. A great way to spend a day.

Sunday was another fantastic day, so we spent it playing in the pool. Towards late afternoon, we decided to continue our physical training for our summer Mammoth/Yosemite trip. So we headed into a nearby canyon park and wandered through the trails for about 3 miles or so. Cool ocean breezes, golden California afternoon light, and plenty of rabbits, snakes and beetles to entertain the kids.

Everyone should be so lucky.
